KIT Program Coordinator Alissa Lavelle will facilitate a training on Early Literacy for child and youth professionals working in Navy Region Southwest.

This module explores early literacy strategies for children with and without disabilities in an inclusive early childhood setting. Participants will explore their own experience with early literacy and current notions of literacy. The session provides an overview of literacy development and includes techniques for encouraging literacy in group settings, using storytelling, music, art and block play.
