Request For Proposal
Kids Included Together (KIT) is committed to supporting out–of–school time providers in including children with disabilities. KIT’s goal is to assist you in overcoming the obstacles to inclusion, developing strategies that support the participation of all children, and connecting your resources to build a stronger community. We invite you to enter into a relationship with us, in which we will provide you, your staff and volunteers with the training, technical assistance and support materials necessary to ensure that children with disabilities are not only welcomed, but successful in your program.
Benefits of Becoming a KIT Affiliate
As a KIT Affiliate you will receive:
- Free on–site training for your staff, up to 4 times per year (total value: $2,600)
- Access to 4 community trainings per year for your staff
- A set of training materials for your staff (total value: $250)
- 5 child–specific consultations provided by inclusion specialists (value up to: $2,500)
- Site–specific consultations for program director (value: priceless!)
- 1 complimentary admission to KIT’s National Conference on Inclusion and KIT Journey Toward Inclusion Luncheon (total value: $300)
- Access to KIT’s Sophie Brody Resource Library software, books, and materials and specialized library events
- eLearning passcode for your staff to access KIT’s online self–paced eLearning modules (value: $100 per person)
- Program promotion on KIT’s website, print materials and at community fairs
- Networking opportunities with other organizations who are practicing inclusion
- On–going resources, support and assistance
- Support with identifying possible funding for inclusion
KIT Affiliates receive support valued at over $7,500 per year!
As a KIT Affiliate you will be required to:
- Express a long–term commitment to include children with disabilities.
- Acknowledge KIT support at the program site, in publications and newsletters.
- Provide a link to KIT’s website from your own website.
- Commit to training all levels of your staff and your volunteer base, including management and leadership.
- Complete organizational survey annually.
- Complete brief bi–annual progress reporting forms in March and September.
KIT Affiliate Application Guidelines
Eligibility
- Programs that serve young people ages 3-21 years outside of the school day.
- A commitment to fully include young people regardless of ability.
- Organization must qualify as a 501(c) (3).
- Organization must be located in San Diego County.
- Proposal Deadlines– January 15, 2011 and September 15, 2011
