I always get a lot of great information to pass on to our teachers and am always amazed at the amount of training KIT facilitators can get into one hour! Thank you for responding to my question. You responded back with exactly what I needed. There were many other great points made, just know I enjoyed your presentation and will pass on your words of wisdom. Thank you.

The staff had nothing but great things to say and encouraged co-workers to come tonight. One teacher stated that she was excited to come to work today and had not felt that way in a long time. When I stopped by to check on her she came running out of the room with great excitement and a smile and said ’Today is a great day! I loved it. This is working.’ Another teacher said that they already implemented changes and noticed how much quieter and calmer their day was. Overall they were thrilled with the training and thankful that they are being heard. Just wanted to let you know it offered some spirit back to the children.

There are so many misconceptions around disabilities and too many people approach inclusion with a formulaic, often misguided, approach to this is how things "should" be done. KIT helps partners move away from those things. They not only "get inclusion" but they understand the behaviors, strategies, and best-practices that can help their partners make inclusion a reality.

As an experienced educator, counselor and consultant, I have attended hundreds of workshops in the past 35 years. I want you to know that yours was one of the best! It was the perfect balance between theory and practice. You demonstrated not only knowledge of the subject, but practical down-to-earth suggestions that were based upon developmentally appropriate strategies for working with special needs children.

You guys are fantastic!.. Your webinars and training sessions are so informative, and really give our teachers the confidence they need to do what they are already doing, which is providing dance to anybody that wants to move! You are an invaluable resource, and we look forward to many year(s) of affiliation!
Sigonella, Italy
This year we were fortunate enough to have KIT visit our site here in Sigonella. KIT's assessment of our classrooms really opened the teachers eyes to changes they can make within their environments and daily schedules to better support children with special needs. Their feedback provided the staff with wonderful ideas to enhance our program. The staff really enjoyed the training KIT provided on inclusion. The instructor was very knowledgeable and was able to explain inclusion in a way for all staff to make use of the information.
Iwakuni, Japan
I just really need to tell you how very much we appreciated the KIT trainings. We do not get many opportunities for outside trainings over here in Iwakuni so this was probably appreciated more so than at other installations. However I would like to say that Mary Shea is a perfect fit for doing these trainings. The classroom observations and coaching she did with our staff was as valuable as her entertaining training sessions. She gave our staff specific and concrete compliments on things they were doing correctly. She also answered their questions with ease making sure no one felt awkward asking a ‘dumb’ question. She gave great suggestions for various issues the teachers brought up and just generally brought back the energy and enthusiasm into our facilities. We had an evening training on Thursday evening that was supposed to be our big training. During our Saturday morning training we had even more staff show up. The word had gotten around about how much everyone had enjoyed the training on Thursday. Suffice to say the KIT trainings in Iwakuni were a stellar success. Thank you for your commitment to the training field and for your highly qualified staff!
On August 17–18, 2012, 87 brave individuals with no prior climbing experience spent over eight months raising the $1,000 minimum to rappel off the 33rd story of San Diego’s Manchester Grand Hyatt, the west coast’s tallest waterfront building, and proved we all face our fears the same, regardless of physical ability.
With the profits from the event we are able to support six additional child development and recreation programs as they work toward creating environments where children with disabilities are welcomed, valued and included.
A very special thanks to our generous sponsors!
At Kids Included Together, our vision is a world not defined or categorized by "ability" or "disability." It’s a place where everyone is accepted for who they are. Where, when we look around our community we see all kinds of people enjoying all kinds of activities and we know that all of our lives are enriched.
When kids of all abilities are included together, they learn compassion, camaraderie, and kindness. It is a privilege and honor to serve an organization that focuses on these fundamentals of friendship, rather than a child’s physical, emotional, or mental capabilities. Kids Included Together helps people see the beauty, grace, and fullness of every child, not the limitations that society or circumstance has placed upon them.
