JOB SUMMARY:
The Research & Evaluation Specialist provides leadership to the Research & Evaluation Department by completing both the technical domain and the project management aspect of the work. S/he will manage and complete research and evaluation studies, including literature reviews, research and evaluation designs, instrument development, onsite data collection, data analysis, and report writing. S/he will also develop proposals and implement contracts and/or grants that support the sustainability of the Department.
CLASSIFICATION OF POSITION: Full Time Exempt
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate or contribute to methodological and the theoretical advances in the measurement of the importance of inclusion, with a focus on out-of-school time organizations.
- Manage the completion of all research and evaluation components of KIT obtained contracts and grants.
- Develop proposals for research and development projects and obtain financial support for new or continuing research activities.
- Contribute to the conceptualization of and actively lead and manage complex research studies addressing issues of inclusion quality.
- Conduct organizational evaluation and use results to recommend program improvement.
- Manage affiliate data collection and reporting.
- Develop new products or services to support the measurement and enhancement of inclusion quality.
- Manage and oversee data collection in the field and online, verify cleanliness of data.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data using ATLAS, Winsteps, SPSS and other statistical packages.
- Write an ongoing series of inclusion-based White Papers outlining the position of KIT.
- Implement dissemination activities, including authoring briefs and other internal and external reports.
- Author articles to be submitted for publication in scholarly and other journals.
- Present at content-related workshops and conferences.
- Present research and evaluation results to important stakeholders.
- Supervise research associates.
- Promote and maintain professional relationships as a representative, consultant, or advisor to external advisory or policy boards and councils, research organizations, providers, or out-of-school time administrators.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform similar or additional duties as requested by supervisor.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Master's degree in educational research, social science, psychometrics, measurement, or a related field (PhD preferred).
- A minimum of five years of experience managing projects, preferably within nonprofit organizations.
- Experience developing and implementing project management processes, tools, and training to increase efficiency.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives, managers, coworkers, and clients.
- Experience using an LMS is a plus.
