KIT is built on a strong foundation of successful programming and sincere commitment to both the philosophy of inclusion and its implementation in all walks of life. KIT's board is comprised of members who represent a variety of professions and life experiences. During KIT's history, board representation includes adults with disabilities as well as parents of children with disabilities. Some work in the fields of special education, pediatric medicine, health and human service, as well as law, business and accounting. Other board members are volunteers who have devoted their lives to improving conditions in their communities. Each believes that it is the responsibility of society to remove all barriers that allow and condone segregation and exclusion.
Members of the board and the community have to date, contributed or pledged in excess of $1,100,000 toward KIT's operating and program costs.
